The Reverend Doctor Linwood T. Blizzard, IIserves as the 16th Senior Pastor of the historic Macedonia Baptist Church in Heathsville, Virginia. He serves on the faculty of Northumberland High School in Heathsville, Virginia as the Calculus teacher. In addition, her serves as Site Coordinator for the Northern Neck Site of the Evans-Smith Institute of Church Leadership and as Adjunct Professor of Practical Theology on the faculty of the Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University. He was licensed to preach in 2009 at the Saint Paul's Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia under the leadership of the Rev. Dr. Lance Watson. He was ordained in 2015 at the Morning Star Baptist Church in Boston, Massachusetts under the leadership of Bishop John M. Borders, III.
He currently serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Macedonia Community Development Corporation, Inc. (MACorp, Inc.) and Vice-Chair for the Board of Directors for the Northumberland Unit of the Boys and Girls Club of the Northern Neck, Inc., and Treasurer for the Board of Directors of the World Student Christian Federation – North America, Inc. In addition, he chairs the Committee on Justice for the Northern Neck Baptist Association, Inc. and serves as a Commissioner for the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula for the Commission on Social Justice for the Baptist General Convention of Virginia. Furthermore, he is a board member of the River Counties Community Foundation and Gloucester Montessori School. Moreover, he is a member of the Northumberland Branch of the NAACP, Interracial Conversations, and EMPOWER. He is a life member Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., where he currently serves as the Financial Secretary and the Chair of the Budget and Finance Committee for the Virginia Association of Chapters of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. (VACAPAF).
Dr. Blizzard holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering with minors in mathematics and chemistry from Virginia Tech, a Master of Divinity from Howard University, a Certificate in Ecumenism from the Washington Theological Consortium, and a Master of Sacred Theology in Religion and Culture and a Doctor of Ministry in Transformational Leadership both from Boston University. Dr. Blizzard is a native of Williamsburg, Virginia. He and his wife Joycelyn are the proud parents of three children.
